The Institute receives no public funding; it is maintained from the founder’s endowment and the subscriptions of the Friends. The Friends of the Vaughan Institute support the digitisation of the catalogue and the conservation of the Deposit. Legacies are received with particular gratitude and, where the testator wishes, discretion.
